Campground Rates

Campsites can be reserved from our online campsite booking page.  Online reservation must be made the day before you would like to camp.  If you try to make a reservation on the day you want to come in the online site, will not let you do the booking, you may call us at 1-970-883-2273. Or feel free to stop by the bait shop (8am – 6pm) to find out if we have any spaces.

Also, you may come in after the bait shop is closed, check the reservation board outside of the store & if a camping permit is in the sign board – site is available.

Follow the directions for payment & filling out the proper paperwork.

Walk-in is only good for ONE NIGHT.  If you would like to stay longer, you will have to inquire at the Bait Shop in the morning for availability.

F.Y.I the Southern Ute Rangers are watching – – DON’T GET A TICKET!!?

Southern Ute Tribal Members will need to show your SUIT ID upon arrival for camping.

Failure to present a valid SUIT ID for RV sites reserved at the SUIT Member rate will result being charged the full rental amount.

Failure to present a valid SUIT ID for tent sites reserved at the SUIT Member rate will result in being charged the full rental amount.

Please note: no water in the campground for March or October.

Campground Amenities

• 10 RV sites with 30-amp & 20-amp electric connections, potable water connection, fire-ring, and picnic table
• Dump station for grey/black water is located on road west of bathhouse.
• 30 tent sites with fire ring and picnic table.
• Bathhouse including public toilets, sinks, and showers.

Campground Rules

1. ALL visitors MUST check in at Bait Shop upon arrival.
2. Only 2 vehicles are allowed per site.
3. Only 8 people per site.
4. Quiet Hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.
5. Pets MUST be on a leash and you MUST clean up after your pet.
6. No alcohol is allowed.
7. No illegal, recreational, or recreational/prescription drug use is allowed.
8. No firearms or hunting are allowed at Lake Capote.
9. No vehicles are allowed off-road.
10. Fires are only allowed in established fire pits.
11. Maximum stay is 18 days.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

If you request to cancel your reservation, please cancel as soon as possible, by calling us at the

Bait Shop 1-970-883-2273

• No refund will be issued if you do not give a three-day notice of cancellation.
• The fee for cancellation will be 10% of the original booking. You will be refunded 90% of your original booking.
  If a campsite is unavailable for the person who reserved the site a 100% refund will be given.  If possible, the manager or staff can make accommodate you with another site.
